YESSSSS, today I can finally write a winning match report after WRYFC U14 ended their 4 game loosing streak with a fantastic, hard fought victory over a very good Dorchester team. Showing off our brand new kit, supplied by Synergy, the boys posed for photos before kick off and you could tell they felt the part as the game started with some great one touch football and it wasn't long before Scott played a superb ball from the right wing through to Luke who raced down towards goal and slotted it under the on rushing keeper, 0-1. Wareham continued to battle hard and defended as a team which got us to half time with our lead intact. Just before the half time whistle though Charlie Holland broke through just inside the Dorchester half and found Jess who flicked it onto Brandon who was at full pace. This took him past the last defender and with time and space, found the bottom corner with a well placed shot. 0-2.

The second half started as the first finished with both teams fighting hard and swapping possession quite regularly. The big pitch finally took its toll with tired legs creeping in and with 10 minutes left a gap appeared that Dorchester exploited. A cross from their left hand side was met by the striker to make it 1-2 and a nervous end to the game was on. Some great defending from the whole team with everyone doing their individual jobs brilliantly made sure Dorchester couldn't get through again and WRYFC U14 held on to take their first win in 5.

Among the battlers Thomas White stood out throughout the whole game, with some perfectly timed tackles, instinctive covering and a debuting header earns him the Man of the Match award for this week.

Hopefully we can take this win into next week when we start our cup campaign against an in form Broadstone.

Well done and thank you to everyone who was involved.

Regards,

Craig Marchant
