Another fantastic display of grit, determination and effort from the U14’s saw them come away as 4-0 victors in their first home game of the new season. Puddletown started very physically and let the boys know that they were in for a game but the team stood tough and gave as good as they got and when Scott broke clear on the half hour mark, he calmly slid it under the on rushing keeper to brake the dead lock. Five minutes later and it was 2-0 when some good passing led to Luke getting a shot away and saw the ball roll as slowly as it possible could into the bottom corner after beating a stranded keeper. Luke was unlucky not to see his name credited again after letting a 20 yarder go but, seeing it take a massive deflection off of a defender and find its way into the net for an own goal. The second half started and the boys shut up shop and went for the clean sheet. Another unbreakable showing from the defenders enabled us to have confidence in going forward and it wasn’t long before Scott sealed the 3 points with his second of the afternoon.

A great display from the whole team with Tom, Thomas, Seamus, Josh Y and Mikey starting to form a solid looking defence but Man of the Match for me today was Luke who continued his scoring form and looked confident on the ball when taking players on.

Good effort today to everyone involved, lets keep it going.
